Buenos Aires, December 20 (NA) – Former Argentine President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner was admitted to the Otamendi Sanatorium today with abdominal pain. She underwent surgery and is recovering without postoperative complications, according to the medical center. According to the medical report accessed by the Argentine News Agency, the patient “was admitted to our institution today presenting abdominal pain compatible with acute appendicular syndrome”, a diagnosis “confirmed by the appropriate means”. The report specified that Fernández de Kirchner “underwent laparoscopic surgery in the afternoon”, an intervention that “confirms the diagnosis of appendicitis with localized peritonitis”. Likewise, the document indicated that the former president is “evolving so far without postoperative complications”. The medical report was signed by the medical director of the Otamendi Sanatorium, Marisa Lanfranconi.
